OPERATIONAL SUPER RECOGNISERs - OUT IN THE WORLD
HOW ARE SUPER RECOGNISERS USED IN THE REAL WORLD?
Super Recognisers never forget a face. They can look at a face they’ve only seen for a couple of seconds and then find that person in a crowd of thousands of people. But how do Super Recognisers use this rare skill out in the world?
Super Recognisers are used by both law enforcement and private security/investigators. I am used out on foot for live deployments spotting known subjects, I carry out CCTV analysis, image identifications, and facial comparisons.
My experience to date includes discovering new evidence in three murder investigations for UK police forces, deploying on covert operations at venues such as the Wimbledon Tennis Championship, The O2 Arena, NEC & Arena Birmingham, Premiership football grounds, and private businesses. I carry out facial comparisons and identifications for private companies, authors, scholars, and missing persons charities. I’m a fully trained surveillance operative and help teams locate and surveil subjects for private investigation companies.
It’s not all crime and villains. I help families confirm (or rule out) the identity of relatives in historical photographs. I have worked on cases in the fine art world, giving my opinion on the identity of subjects in portraits and paintings.
If I can be given a face as a reference, I can do my work.
